Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra: AI power, Snapdragon performance, and next-gen camera along with various other features.

In the world of smartphones, new flagships are launched every year, but Samsung's Galaxy S Ultra series has always been a little different. Now, in 2026, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is coming – not just a phone, but a powerhouse that is set to set new standards in AI, performance, and design.

Based on leaks and reports, this phone will bring improvements in many areas compared to the S25 Ultra, but Samsung has taken a cautious approach in some aspects. Let's take a detailed look at what surprises await.

Design: More Comfortable, Yet Retaining the Iconic Look

The signature boxy, sharp-cornered design of the Galaxy S Ultra series is getting a bit softer this time. According to leaked renders, the corners of the S26 Ultra will be more rounded – providing a more comfortable feel in the hand, especially for those who use their phones for extended periods.

The phone will be slightly thinner (approximately 7.9 mm) and lighter, but slightly larger in size – with a 6.9-inch display.

There's also a big change in the camera module: instead of separate rings, a pill-shaped camera island may be introduced, aligning with the Galaxy Fold series. This will make the phone's back look cleaner and more modern.

It will feature a titanium frame and Gorilla Glass Armor 2, so there's no need to worry about durability.

Display: A New Level of Privacy and Brightness

It will feature a 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, but this time with an M14 OLED panel. The peak brightness will reach up to 3000 nits – providing a perfect view even in sunlight.

And the most interesting feature: a privacy mode called "Flex Magic Pixel," which will control the viewing angle of the pixels using AI. If someone looks from the side, the screen will appear blank – ideal for security in public places.

Performance: Globally Snapdragon, No Exynos Troubles

The biggest surprise is here. Samsung is now using the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset globally in the Galaxy S26 Ultra – there will be no regional Exynos variant.

This will ensure consistent performance across all countries. It will have up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage options. This chip will excel in everything from gaming and multitasking to generative AI.

It will come with One UI 8.5 (based on Android 16) and new Galaxy AI features, which might be exclusive to the Ultra model.

Camera: Steady Hardware, but Magic in the Software

Even without a major sensor upgrade in the camera hardware, Samsung has worked smartly. The 200MP main sensor might get a variable aperture or a wider lens, which will perform better in low light and dynamic range.

Camera Setup

  • 200MP Main
  • 50MP Ultrawide
  • 50MP 5x Periscope
  • 10MP or upgraded 12MP 3x Telephoto

Image processing will be significantly improved with the new Snapdragon chip's 20-bit ISP. The selfie camera will get a wider FOV.

In short, even with similar hardware, a big jump in real-world performance is expected.

Battery and Charging: Finally, an Upgrade

It will have a 5000mAh battery (some reports suggest 5200–5400mAh), but the big news is in charging.

  • 60W wired charging
  • 25W wireless charging
  • Full Qi2 support (including magnets)

Up to 80% charge in 30 minutes – a game-changer for everyday use.

Launch and Price: When Will You Get It?

The official launch is likely in January or February 2026 at Galaxy Unpacked. The price might remain similar to the S25 Ultra, but could increase slightly due to some upgrades.

The Galaxy S26 Ultra is not just an upgrade – it's a statement about Samsung's future. If you are a power user, a photography lover, or want AI features, then this phone is worth waiting for.

Should you stick with the S25 Ultra or get the new one – the decision will be tough. What are your thoughts? Let us know in the comments.
